I have an honours degree in Film & Media Studies with English from the University of Stirling. With a background in radio journalism while at school and university, my marketing career began with PR consultancy Countrywide Porter Novelli in Leeds, where I specialised in account planning, working with GNER, Grattan and Pontins.

I moved into media research, handling the Scottish Executive account at The Press Data Bureau before joining The Scotsman Publications as Senior Circulation Analyst, working on The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News and Scotland on Sunday titles. I moved back into public relations with Dumfries & Galloway Tourist Board handling all corporate and consumer PR following the Foot & Mouth outbreak in 2001, before setting up my previous business Catalyst, a Marketing & Business Development Consultancy, in 2003.

Indigo Words focuses on my core skills of copywriting and communications services and was established in Dumfries in 2006.
